Terry Stone graduated from Virginia Tech University in 1988 with both a Bachelor and Master of Architecture degree. While interning under registered architects as part of normal professional development he began offering residential design services. In 1989 Terry joined the commercial architectural staff of one of the largest general contractors in Virginia, Howard Shockey & Sons. This position offered Terry involvement in an extremely wide variety of projects and exposure to full management responsibilities. In 1994 Howard Shockey dissolved their in-house architectural department and negotiated for Terry to take their design services ‘out-of-house’. This development allowed Terry's practice to blossom into a full service commercial architectural firm in the open market. The diversity has continued and the reputation for quality design services has grown. In 2004 Terry relocated to Arizona and formed TouchStone Design which has offered new opportunities to further diversify by providing services on both the east and west coasts.
